To deal with the persistent
annoyance of unwanted calls, whether telemarketers, obscene callers, or
just plain nuisance callers, a simple device from Avinta Communications (www.avinta.com) solves the problem.
Used with a common answering
machine, Avinta's TriVOX product projects an "Auto-Attendant" behavior
to the caller. This is sure to frustrate and discourage the unwanted caller.
Callers knowing the password or secret code (technically an "extension
number" that you choose) can easily get through to ring the phone.
On the other hand, TriVOX
makes connections easier for desired callers. For example, friends and
relatives can call from anywhere without being restricted to a recognizable
telephone number which is an implied limitation of utilizing Caller ID
service.
Set-up is easy. Choose two
simple settings on the TriVOX module. Then plug answering machine into
wall jack, plug TriVOX into answering machine, plug telephone into TriVOX
module and you are ready to go.
In addition to the "Unwanted
Caller" function, TriVOX can also be used in multiple modules, to create
a PBX like phone network on a single phone-line. This is an enhanced phone
system for multiple person residence, home office, dormitory and small
office applications.
